WPI students develop ''MagicMouse''

WPI undergraduate students have developed a new take on an old pointing device, labeled by Popular Science as the ¡°Invention of the Year¡±! This reincarnation of the traditional mouse uses an array of received to track the motion of ultrasonic transmitters, which are worn on the index finger like a ring. The user can control the pointing device my simply pointing at the monitor. Although it can appear unwieldy to point your hand at a 19" monitor, this is a nod to the future with multiple large screens, as well as for those unable to operate a traditional pointing device.
